JAZANIA HERBERT BRIDE OF WILBERT ARV AL O’NEAL Ceremony Performed May I in Fair Haven Methodist Church in Rodanthe on Hatteras Island Miss Jazania M. Polly Herbert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Herbert of Rodanthe, became the bride of Wilbert Arvai O’Neal, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred O’Neal of Rodanthe, Tuesday, May 1, at sev en o’clock in the evening in Fair Haven Methodist Church in Rodan the. The double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Aaron Tyson in a setting of palms, fern, white gladioli and lighted cathedral can dles. Miss Norma Bethany Gray played the wedding music and ac companied Mrs. Virginia Austin of Hatteras who sang “Because” and “I Love You Truly,” and Mrs. Louis Rountree of Salvo who sang The Lord’s Prayer. The bride, who was given in marriage by her brother, John Ed gar Herbert, Jr., wore a bridal gown of white satin with train, Chantilly lace yoke and long lace sleeves ending in points over the hands. Her finger tip length veil of imported silk illusion was ar ranged from a crown of seed pearls. She carried a white Bible topped with white roses centered with a red rose and showered with white satin ribbons. Mrs. Nora Elizabeth Roadcap, of Norfolk, was her sister’s matron of honor. She wore a floor length dress of pink taffeta with pink nylon gloves and headdress of pink flowers. She carried a bonquet of white carnations centered with red carnations. Bridesmaids were Miss Sheila Faye Gray and Miss Mil dred Mae Midgett, both of Rodan the. They wore floor length dresses of medium blue taffeta with matching gloves and headdresses, and carried bouquets of red and white carnations. Miss Anita Dale Roadcap of Norfolk, niece of the bride, was 1 flower girl. She wore a long dress of yellow taffeta with matching 1 gloves and yellow roses in her hair. Oscar B. O’Neal of Miami, Fla., • was his brother’s best man. Greensmen were Charles A. Miss Norma Gray presided at the punch bowl. Following a. wedding trip to Lu ray and other points in Virginia, the couple will make their home in Norfolk. For traveling the bride wore a light silk dress with white accessories and a red and white corsage. Among out-of-towns guests at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. HOOPER Mrs. Willie Hooper was hostess to the Stumpy Point Woman’s I Society of Christ Service Monday evening. Mrs. Lou Hooper led the pro i gram, using the theme, “Take My Life and Let It Be”. “All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name” was sung. Mrs. Wilma Midgette said “There are some needs that every person has. Let us think of these for a minute.” Mrs. Midgett is Secretary of Children’s work. Mrs. Phine Wise, Rec. Sec., Mrs. Willie I Hooper, Secretary of Missionary ■ Education, Mrs. Marge Best, M. Y.F. Counselor, Mrs. Becky Mid gette, Spiritual Life Secretary, all told briefly of the conditions around the world. The Worship Center portrayed very vividly the unbalanced food supply. On one side of the Cross was a stack of canned foods, on the 'opposite a scant supply of rice. After signing pledge cards, the group sang “Take My Life and Let It Be”. Mrs. Ruby Best presided over the business and reports. A bake sale was planned for Saturday, the 26th of May at the school building. A Fellowship Day for Thursday, May 17. The Treas urer reported $64.73 raised at birthday and tacky party to be paid on church budget Report of district and sub-district meetings were given. “Blest Be the Tie" was sung as a benediction. The hostess, assisted by Mrs. Wilma Midgett and Mrs. Doris Twiford, served cake and lemon ade to Mesdames Ruby Gray, Ruth, Lou, Nita, and Florine Hooper, Fannie Meekins, Malissa Midgette, Becky Midgette, Marge Best, Doris Twiford and Phine Wise. BOOKMOBILE SCHEDULE The Bookmobile schedule for Kitty Hawk is as follows: May 15: Post Office stop, 11:00 to 11:30. Longer if necessary, other stops as usual. School: Please have all library books ready to return to the Book mobile librarian by 10:30 a.m. In June the children can get their books either at the Post Office (11-11:30) or at any of the usual stops. The third Tuesday in the month (June 18) will be' the date of the next trip. Colington: If there are those at Colington who desire Bookmobile service, if they will send a postal card to Mrs. Gordon, Dare Co.
