Also visited Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Austin in Suffolk, Mrs. Annie Stowe is back home after visiting in Suffolk with her daughter. Grady Austin was home for the week end. Steve Burrus and son Steve, Jr. spent the week end with his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Bur rus. X Mrs. Bruce Austin, Mr. and Mrs. A. Burrus, and Mrs. Mae Heald motored to Hampton, Va. Tuesday to visit Bruce Austin. At the baptismal service Sunday, nine babies were christened. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Gray of Buxton had two little girls, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Austin, Mr. and Mrs. Levin Fulcher, Mr. and Mrs. Hal Gray, Mr. and Mrs. Don Skakle, Mr. and Mrs. Walton Gaskins, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bailey of Buxton. A surprise birthday party was given Mrs. Ray Sparrow Tuesday night after the regular meeting of the W.S.C.S. a lovely birthday cake was baked by Mrs. Hazel Foster and Mrs. Virginia Austin. The So ciety presented her with a real nice gift. There were 22 prsent. Births Mr. and Mrs. Don Lucian Aus tin of Elizabeth City wish to an nounce the birth of their son, Don Lucian, Jr., born March 19th, weight 8 lbs at the Albemarle Hos pital. ' Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schwin of Richmond announce the birth of a daughter March 26; weight 8 lbs, named Bertha Ann. Her mother, Mrs. Richard Job, is with her. • Revival services began at the Methodist Church Sunday night. Rev. Robert Frost of the Currituck charge and Rev. Carl Callaway of the Camden charge are doing the preaching. Everyone is invited to come. A large crowd is attending, and special singing each night. HOUSE An Easter Sunrise service has been planned and choir practice will begin Sunday, April 7, at 2:30 at the Methodist Church in Avon. The 11 churches on the is land, and visitors who would like to sing in the choir are invited to attend each practice if possible. The congregation will also have a part in the singing of the regular Easter hymns. A Day Apart Service was ob served Saturday, March 30th at the Buxton Methodist Church. Mrs. Mabel Meekins of Avon was the leader. Others taking part were: Mrs. Venice Williams of Avon; Mesdames Odessa Gray, Dinah Dailey, Lillie Turner, Cynthia Rol linson, Laura Hooper and Pearl Midgett. Refreshments of cup cakes, hot coffee and tea were served at the close of the service. STUMPY POINT PERSONALS Mrs. Floyd Hooper and Mrs. Bob Midgett motored to Norfolk Sun day. They were accompanied home by Mr. Hooper and Mr. Midgett who will spend 10 days leave with their families. Glenn Twiford of Norfolk spent the week end here. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Midgett and daughter Susan of Norfolk spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Riley Payne and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Midgett. Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Meekins, Carlos and H. L. were in Manteo Monday. A. M. Meekins left Monday for U. S. Public Health Hospital in Norfolk. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Spitzer, Steve and Linda of Taylors Beach spent the week end with Mrs. Tom Wise and Mr. and Mrs. Carson Meekins. Milton Hooper of Norfolk spent the week end here. W. M. Monette of Norfolk spent the week end here. Mrs. Sam Boomer and daughter, Dianna of Norfolk spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. M. V. Hoop er. Brantley Twiford spent Saturday in Norfolk. Mrs. Annie Payne has been call ed to Norfolk by the illness of her son, Julian, who suffered a heart attack last Tuesday and is in Nor folk General Hospital.
