A. Jordan and her daugh ter, Mrs. Glenn Carawan enter tained at a luncheon at one o’clock on February 17 at the home of Mrs. Jordan on Front Street, honoring Miss Sandra Noble whose mar riage to Richard Onslow Howard, Jr., will take place on Sunday. Guests were greeted by Mrs. Jordan and directed to the dining room by Mrs. Carawan. The hon oree, lovely in a lavender blue dress and pink spring hat, was presented a corsage of pink per fection camellias uon arrival. The house was decoated in pink and white. Arrangments of pink camellias were used and on the luncheon table wins an imported linen cloth. Pink perfection camel lias floating in a silver bowl flanked by silver candelabra hold ing pink tapers completed the set ting. Guests included the bride-elect and her mother, Mrs. Franklin Noble, the bridegroom’s mother, Mrs. R. O. Howard and Mesdames H. V. Latham, Ralph Sawyer, Frank Keaton, Jimmie Cox, Gilbert Radcliff, R. H. Allen, Ralph Hodge# and Roger Phillips. Bridal Shower Thursday Night Miss Sandra Noble, bride-elect of February 28, was honor guest at a miscellaneous bridal shower Thursday night when Mesdames Jay Wobig, R. H. Allen and Ralph Hodges entertained at the home of Mrs. Wobig on Pungo Creek. The home was attractively ar ranged carrying out the bridal motif. An informal social hour was enjoyed by all climaxed with the opening of many lovely and use ful gifts by the bride-elect. The hostess served lime sherbet, mints, sandwiches and candies from a lovely party table entwined with greenery and lighted by white candles in silver holders, to the following guests: Miss Sandra Nobles, Mesdames Franklin Nobles, R. O. Howard, H. V. Latham, Ralph Sawyer, George Riddick, M. L. Andrews, Pat Leigh, Charles Smith. Miss Mary Costulis and Miss Pattie Lou Martin. Miniature household articles were used as favors. REV. Howerin motored to Norfolk Friday to visit Joe Wil liams a patient at the Marine Hos pital. Arthur Jennette of Norfolk is spending a few days at home. MATCHA PUNGO GARDEN CLU EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETS There was a call meeting of Matcha Pungo Garden Club exe cutive board Monday morning at the home of Mrs. Sarah Latham with Vann Latham presiding. The shrubbery sale slated for March 11th was discussed fully, and it was decided to go ahead and se cure all orders possible. Anyone desiring plants should contact either Mrs. M. L. Windley or Mrs. Vann Latham at once. Mrs. Latham announced that Mrs. John A. B. Daughtridge of Rocky Mounty, State Garden Club, President would visit the club for an all day meeting on flower ar ranging on April 4th.
