Wilbur Cahoon attended the funeral of Lyndon Cahoon in Fair field Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Spruill and Mrs. Dorothy Twiford motored to Columbia. Mrs. Emily Smith has returned after visiting her sister, Mrs. Molly Gallop in Norfolk. C. C. Duval attended the funeral of Mrs. Martha Alexander in Edenton. Mrs. Thelma Smith was in Man teo Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin McGowan, Aubrey and Mrs. Dixie Ambrose visited their brother, Lewis Smith, in Norfolk. He is still in a suffer ing condition caused by a wreck. Those here from Norfolk were Adolphus Ambrose, Kenneth Miller, Norman Cahoon, Roger Cahoon, Miller Cahoon, Wallace Basnight, Wiley Smith, Richard Twiddy, Ir vin Ambrose, and Chester Holmes. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Mann of Manteo visited Mrs. Sina Mann. Those visiting Mr. and Mrs. Turner Twiford Sunday were: Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hill and son of Rocky Mount, Mr. W. M. Brick house of Greenville, and Mr. and Mrs. Miland Berry of Washington. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Pinner and Mr. and Mrs. Turner Twiford were in Columbia. SENIOR CITIZENS TO MEET The Senior Citizens Club will hold a meeting at the Recreational Hall in the Kitty Hawk Methodist Church, Thursday, May 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. All members are urged to attend and to bring a friend. After electing new officers and all business taken care of a social hour will follow. Games will be played such as, dominos and checkers, then refreshments will be served. KAM DIS” 1 1"* r" n MANTEO SCOUT TROOP VISIT CAMP PERRY Scoutmaster John Earle left Manteo Friday afternoon with thirteen scouts of Troop 165 for a week end Camporee at Camp Car ter Perry, located near New Hope. ■Scouts making the Camporee in clude: Gregory Austin; Timothy I Gaylord; Walter Gray; Richard I Hultman; Robert Hultman; Robert Jackson; Lewis Midgett; Geary Morton; Freddie Roush; Spencer Smith; Floyd Taylor; Nevin Wes cott; and Wayne Midgett. Parents assisting the Scouts with transportation include: Mrs. Love Morton and Mr. Austin, for the trip up on Friday afternoon, pick ing the boys up at the Manteo Ele mentary School at 3:45 p.m., on Sunday, Mrs. Beulah Gaylord, and Walter Gray drove to Camp Car ter-Perry to bring the boys home in Dare County. Troop Committee Chairman Floyd B. Taylor and Scoutmaster Earle express their appreciation to the parents and boys for their in terest and support in the week end Camporee. Phillip Bunch had the misfortune to fall Friday at the Nags Head skating rink and fracture his left arm. Mrs. Roy Starr Cox and daughter Corma Starr have returned from the Beaufort Memorial Hospital in Washington. Mrs. Myra Patrick visited her mother, Mrs. Ruth Bridgeman, in Swan Quarter Sunday. Mrs. Glenn Jarvis and Mrs. S. S. Neal spent Friday in Manteo and Wanchese. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Thos. Gibbs have moved in to the Roper place that Gilbert Gibbs recently pur chased and remodeled.
