MISS KNIGHT HONORED
AT BRIDAL SHOWER
Mrs. Warren O’Neal and Miss
Betty Ruth Flowers entertained
Miss Estelle Knight of Stumpy and
Manteo, at a bridal shower, Mon
day, March 27, at the home of Mrs.
O’Neal.
A color scheme of green and
white was used, with white camel
lias centering the table laid with
a white hand crocheted lace table
cloth. A miniature wedding cake,
toppel with a bride and bridegroom,
punch, mints, and nuts were serv
ed.
Miss Knight, whose marriage to
Paul Midgett is to take place in
April, was presented a corsage of
white camellias. The mothers of the
bride and bridegroom also received
corsages like that of the honoree.

On Tuesday evening, March 28,1
following revival services at the
church, Mrs. Julia Midgett of Avon
was givin a surprise party on the
occasion of her 78th birthday. For
ty-three relatives and friends cal
led during the evening including
Rev. and Mrs. C. W. Guthrie. Cake
and ice cream were served to the
group.
Host and hostess for the occas
ion were Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Mid
gett, son and daughter-in-law of
the honoree.

of Norfolk spent the weekend with
