The purpose of the meeting is to make plans for the Christmas Program. OCRACOKE PERSONALS The Cub Scouts enjoyed a sight seeing trip to Hatttras and Buxton Sunday. They attended Sunday School at the Methodist Church in Hatteras. They visited the Park Museum in Buxton and several of the Scouts went up the Cape Hat teras Lighthouse. Everyone enjoyed a picnic dinner. The Scouts who made the trip were: Charles Mason, David and Gene Ballance, Martin Garrish, J. C. Lewis, Kenny Garrish, Nathan Spencer, Wilson Garrish, Mack Tolson, Gerald and Spencer Gaskins, Anthony Mutro, David F. O’Neal and Thomas Midgette. They were accompained by: Mrs. Alice Rondthaler, Mr. and Mrs. Ben jamin O’Neal and Monford Garrish. A Thanksgiving Day Service will be held at the Methodist Church, Thursday morning at 10 a.m. Doward Brugh returned from Norfolk Sunday. Friends are glad to hear that his daughter Pamela is recuperating satisfactory from an illness. Mr. and Mrs. Nacie Williams of Haverton, Penn., visited Mr. Wil liams mother, Mrs. Lena Williams, last week. Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Wahab spent several days in Manteo and Frisco this week. Mrs. Maude Fulcher and Mrs. Tressie Howard went to Washing ton, N. C., Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Eley have re turned home from a two weeks vacation in Norfolk, Va., and Green ville, N. C. Mid gett, whose wife, Ingrid, lives at 6040 Percival rd., Columbia, S. C., recently re-enlisted for six years in the Regular Army while serving as a driver in the 31st Transporta tion Battalion’s Company B in Munich, Germany. Specialist Midgett entered the Army in 1955, was last stationed at Fort Jackson, S. C., and arrived overseas on this tour of duty in October 1961. UWRENCEBURG, KENTUCKY PAGE ELEVEN HYDE NATIVE DIES IN NORFOLK HOSPITAL Mrs. Lloyd Hale of Norfolk, Va., passed away Thursday night in a Norfolk hospital. Funeral services were held Sun day afternoon at 2:00 o’clock from the Holloman and Brown Funeral home in Norfolk and burial was in Forest Hill cemetery. Mrs. Hale was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Thomp son of Engelhard. She was a mem ber of the Methodist church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Al Solita of Princess Anne, Va., and Mrs. Al Whithers of Pul aski, Va.; one son, Gaither Cox of Engelhard; two grandchildren; two brothers, R. L. Thompson of Manns Harbor and George Thomp son of Swan Quarter; and one sister, Mrs. Tom Stowe of Wash ington. CARD OF THANK?
