CHRISTMAS MESSAGE CHEERS
MANTEO P. O. EMPLOYEES
No one has to work harder un
der difficult circumstances than
post offline (employes in a short
period, when the Christmas rush is
on, due to the many greeting cards
and letters mailed and received,
and the heavy bulk of Christmas
parcels post packages. There is a
let down on the day following
Christmas, when business drops off.
The Manteo postoffice clerks have
been heartened. This season many
letters and cards of appreciation
for the service given during the
holidays, one message came from
Dr. and Mrs. W. F. Mustin who are
vacationing on the Florida keys
and who are having their mail for
warded. Those who have sent mes
sages include pastors, and many
other people, whose mail has been
cared for in their absence.
One woman has written the most
prized message: She said “I have
been in many postoffices but< there
is none so merry and jolly, it’s a
pleasure to go in and do business;
everyone greets you with a smile,
and if you have the blues they
soon vanish when you hear that
cheerful hello. You are the best in
the world, I think. I love you all
and hope you have a-very Merry
Christmas.” To this and several
other messages in similar vein, the
postoffice employes take this means
of expressing their thanks and good
wishes.
