Wilkinson school ; auditorium. Sponsors were the Tri-Community Ruritan club and the Belhaven Band Boos ters club. The Belhaven Band rendered several numbers. The Band will attend the Azalea festival in Wilmington. HYDE NATIVE, 78, DIES -■ A ■ Benjamin Allen Gibbs, 78, re tired merchant, died Thursday morning in a Raleigh hospital after illness of six months. He was a native of Hyde County and lived in Elizabeth I City most of his life. I He was a son of Benjamin Wilson and Mrs. Alice Burrus Gibbs. He was a member of City Road Methodist Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lucy Fulcher Gibbs, and a daughter, Mrs. Bert White, both of Elizabeth City; a son, B. L. Gibbs of Hertford; five grand children and two great-grand children. A funeral service was conduct ed Friday at 4 p.m. in Twiford Funeral (Home by the Rev. C. G. Nickens of City Road Metho dist Church. Burial was in New Hollywood Cemetery.
