rell, Inc., of a $77,654.51 contract
for the reconstruction of Ore
gon Inlet Marina. This was the
lowest of the quotations received
for the Project
The Oregon Inlet Fishing Cen
ter was severely damaged dur
ing the recent storm along
North Carolina’s Outer Banks,
and work under this contract
is designed to place the Marina
into operation before the heavy
visitor season begins.
Under the contract a new
bulkhead, finger piers, mooring
piles, dredging, boardwalks, pav
ing, and wheel stops will be con
structed. Work on the project
began March 28, 1962 and is
scheduled to be completed by
May Ist 1962.

I. The following ordinance
shall apply to that area of Dare
County generally described as
follows:
Bounded on the north by the
Currituck County Line
Bounded on the east by the
Atlantic Ocean
Bounded on the west by Cur
rituck Sound, Albemarle Sound,
Roanoke Island
I Bounded on the south by the
'north line of the Cape Hatteras
Seashore Area, on Bodie Island.
Excluding, however, the vil
lages of Kitty Hawk and Col
ington and the area between
the “Little Bridge” and Roanoke
Sound Bridge.
11. That all rental residences,
and every other place, or busi
ness, whether occupied, or fre
quented by guest, tenant, lessee,
or customer, having a running
water supply in any form, shall,
until such water supply has been
examined and approved by the
State Board of Health, or a
representative thereof, post a
sign in each room having run
ning water stating “WATER
UNSAFE FOR DRINKING
AND MUST NOT BE USED
FOR THIS PURPOSE.”
111. That every residence, or
other place, or business, offer
ing its rooms, apartments, or
facilities to any customer, ten
ant, guest, lessee or customer
shall provide a safe, approved,
I water supply for drinking, cook
ing, and dishwashing purposes.
That unpolluted water, though
lit may contain excessive salin
ity, may be used for bathing,
flushing toilets and other gener
al uses.
I IV. That running water which
is polluted with both salt and
coliform bacteria, must be chlor
inated, or not be used for any
purpose.
| V. That safe drinking water,
secured from an approved
source must be handled in ap
proved containers, such as demi
johns, or other covered, properly
protected containers, which can,
anddshall be kept clean.
(Since an approved source for
drinking water, established by
the State Board of Health, will
be installed at the west end of
“Lake Diive,” sometime? known
as the Fresh Pond Road, all
persons may arrange for their
own containers, and transporta
tion to and from this approved
source.)
VI. Any person violating these
rules and regulations shall be
'deemed to have created a nui
sance, dangerous to the public
health, and any person continu
ing such violation, after notice
to abate such nuisance by the
Health Director, shall be guilty
of a misdemeanor, in accord
ance with G.S. 130-20.
The foregoing ordinance was
adopted this 29 day of March
1962, and shall have the force
and effect of law April 6,1962.
