Living on the west coast of the .state waitn’t the luxury it is today. Ray remem bers that their drinking water came from a spring several miles away, and had to be car ried in huge jar.s. “When the .sunimer came, though,” Ray .said, “We didn’t drink water. We'd just cut a r. hole in an orange and suck the juice ” ’He has spent mo.st of his life in the outdoors, fisliing and hunting whenever lie had a chance.
