About one out of three of the blue marlin caught this season were tagged and released while still alive in a great consen’a- tion program initiated primarily by one man, Emile DuPont of Wilniinglon, Delaware, of the- Hatieras Blue-Marlin Club. — Guidos of Oregon Inlet have also encouraged the release of white marlin this year' and about one out of four fish taken have been, vedeased - while '"'stillL'/,’' alive by anglers aboard Inlet*; based boats. The white marlin peak is yet to come. "Usually it arrives about August 1. In meantime, sailfish catches are beginning and about 30 have been taken by anglers^ off Hatteras and Oregon Inlet.
