The Charlotte Jewish News - January 2002 - Page 7 Federation Major Gifts Dinner a Huge Success The 2002 Annual Campaign got off to a great start as the Major Givers gathered at the Levine Museum of the New South to welcome guest speaker Robert Schrayer, United Jewish Communities National Campaign Chairman. Schrayer, who lives in Chicago, described in detail the crisis situa tion in Israel. At the dinner on December 13, Schrayer said that many people think it is dangerous to travel to Israel at this time. His answer to them is “It’s dangerous not to travel to Israel.” Shopkeepers are barely surviving, hotel rooms are empty, cab drivers cannot afford to keep their cabs, and everywhere you go, Israelis Of Greater Charloite thank you for coming to Israel.
