The Arnovitz’s have an extensive bibliography at the end of their email. If you hear about rallies or other organized meetings to sup port Israel, attend them. You may have already missed a few: April 15 in Washington which ten Charlotteans attended; the local Yom Ha’Atzmaut rally on April 17; the local Yom Ha’Atzmaut celebration on April 21. There will be more — don’t miss any! Here is one of the tough ones: Visit Israel. Remember that your guide’s livelihood depends on your safety; they won’t take you anywhere dangerous. The hotels, restaurants, shops, etc. will bend over backwards for you. There are lots of beautiful sights that are safe and you may even have to your self. If you can’t visit yourself, and you know someone who is going, encourage their visit. Try not to make them feel anxious. And give them some money to spend on Israeli gifts for yourself there. If you would like to see the Arnovitz’s complete email, email me at amontoni@shalomchar- lotte.org and I will forwai'd it to you in its entirety. O “...Ours is a faith system that does not seek to convert or worse, eliminate non-adherents. If anything, Judaism discourages conversion and preaches there is merit to gentiles who establish a just society. Jews don’t need outside validation nor do they need majority status....” —Brigitte Dayan, Managing Editor. JUF News, December 2001
