Wildly Wealthy Women, an international mentoring group, was founded by two Australian women who teach other women how to find success and happiness by doing something they love to do. Co-founder Sandy Forster, is an internationally best-selling author and prosperity coach who recently received a “Stevie Award” as International Mentor of the Year. Her partner, Dymphna Boholt, is a trained economist and profession al accountant who is also an inter- nationally-acclaimed speaker on real-estate investing and asset pro tection. ^ The Hebrew High curriculum for the 8th and 9th grade is broken into two distinct sections. The first consists of a variety of electives designed to stimulate the individ ual students’ interest and expand their base of Jewish knowledge. These classes are made up of a mixture of students from both temples and allow for important social and intellectual interaction between the two groups. The second section is devoted to temple specific core classes designed by the clergy of each temple. These classes reinforce the lessons and values learned in the earlier grades, while allowing stu dents to develop meaningful rela tionships with their own clergy. The core classes of both temples have had exciting and educational years, with many highlights. The following are just a few examples: Temple Israel’s core classes spent the bulk of their first session studying the festival of Purim. They read and analyzed the Megillah and discussed the story from many perspectives. Teachers, Reuven Green and Rabbi Cantor made sure that the classes learned about the history of the festival before beginning the fun of preparing for the performance. The culmination of the unit was a fantastic Purim shpiel that debuted at Temple Israel on Purim eve, March 9. The students choreo graphed, directed and painted sets m for the performance. Shushan Shrek was warmly received and everyone agreed that it was Ogreiffic! Temple Beth El is extending their popular “Just Say Know” sex and relationship course to the eighth and ninth grades. Under the supervision of Cantor Bernard, a group of volunteers spent many weeks designing the curriculum to be relevant and informative to the students. The course teaches teens to respect themselves, their bodies and their peers, using Jewish val ues as well as pop culture. Volunteers from Temple Beth El will join the Hebrew High staff, to make the program a success. Giving teens a comfortable, non- judgmental, Jewish Forum to express their concerns about delicate subjects increases the bond between the students and their temple. Hebrew High continues to be the place for Jewish teens to grow in self-confidence and Jewish Identity. It’s the place for teens to be on Wednesday nights! ^ The 8th and 9th graders perform Shushan Shrek for the Erev Purim shpiel.
