The Charlotte Jewish News - January 2013 - Page 22 On Ending a Term as Hadassah President By Hadas Kasher This is my last column for the CJN. I have provided a column every month for the past 2-1/2 years- not always easy for a native Israeli whose first language is He brew. But talking and writing about Hadassah has been an honor and a privilege. It was an honor and a privilege to serve our community as the President of our Hadassah chap ter. Charlotte Chapter of Hadas sah is leading countless activities benefiting our community right here in Charlotte, in Israel, and around the world. In Charlotte, we are all volunteers, and as volun teers we create and run all of our programming. Our oldest pro gram, the Charlotte Area Jewish Community Directory, just cele brated its 65th anniversary. Other Hadassah programs are one-time events in response to an immedi ate need, such as the program to aid Israel in the wake of the Carmel fire. Some of our activi ties are initiated by our passionate members, such as our mother and daughter events, women’s Seder, and this year’s amazing Celebrate the TaTas. We also have annual events, such as Lunch and Learn, Maj Marathon, and Health Night. Hadassah inspires a passion for and commitment to our partner ship with the land and people of Israel. Hadassah enhances the health of people worldwide through its support of medical care and research at the Hadassah Medical Organization in Jerusalem. Hadassah empowers its members and supporters in Is rael and America through oppor tunities for personal growth, education, advocacy, and Jewish continuity. These statements guide Hadassah, and inspire our work here in Charlotte. On behalf of Hadassah and myself, I would like to thank all our members, associates, commu nity leaders and supporters for your support during my term as [j® SAH Hadassah Health Nisht 2013 Ask the Doctor - The Latest and Greatest President.
