The Charlotte Jewish News - April 2013 - Page 25 Temple Kol Tikvah Dedicates Synagogue in the Lake Norman Area Dedication Ceremony April 14, 2013 at 605 South Street in Davidson Temple Kol Tikvah of Lake Norman, invites the publie to at tend the dedieation of the eongre- gation’s new synagogue at 605 South Street in Davidson on Sun day, April 14 at 1:30 PM. The temple is the first synagogue lo- eated between Charlotte and Statesville. The building dedieation marks a signifieant milestone for the Jewish eommunity. “Today is the eulmination of a dream many of us have held in our hearts for more than 15 years,” eommented Len Sadek, the eongregation’s eo- president. “We started out years ago with a handful of families and today, we have more than 175 families that will walk through our doors to pray, study, learn and enjoy eaeh other’s eompany on a regular basis,” he added. “This building dedieation is not just an event for the Jews in the area. It took a large group of peo ple, of all faiths, to get us to this day. As we finalize the plans for this event, it is our greatest hope that the entire Lake Norman eom munity will eelebrate with us and attend the eeremony. On April 14, we will take our plaee alongside other houses of worship and be a plaee of refieetion and souree of Tikkun Olam,” (a Hebrew phrase meaning “heal the world” that eonnotes soeial aetion, eommu nity serviee and soeial justiee) said Slade Goldstein, Temple Kol Tikvah eo-president. The dedieation eeremony will inelude brief remarks from key eongregational leaders and in vited dignitaries, an unveiling of the mezuzah (a saered parehment with two portions of the Torah in- seribed by hand and stored in a proteetive ease and hung at the doorpost of Jewish buildings and homes) and building tours.
