BADIN bulletin
Badin Orchestra. It is a ten-piece or
chestra made up of picked players from
the Band, so chosen as to give a well
balanced ensemble. Their playing has
plenty of swing and “pep,” and they are
sure to be in demand not only in Badin
but in surrounding towns and cities.
A Real Need
We need a public library in Badin—
we must have one. Some of us have
been conscious of this for a long time,
but there was no suitable place that
could be made accessible to the com
munity at large. It now looks as if
we have solved that difficulty, and the
library must come. Plans are now be
ing put into effect, and by the next issue
we can make some definite announce
ments.
We are glad to report that Mrs. C.
H. Myers, of No. 1 Ash Street, who has
been in hospital In Charlotte for three
weeks for treatment, and has undergone
two operations, is now Improving very
rapidly, and is expected home in a few
days.
This is not an elf or fairy, but just Olive Smith
herself down in the garden, ready for work
Mr. F. E. Street is having a pleasant
time grading, classifying, and inventory
ing the firebrick which have so long
needed attention.
Personal Notes
While Charles Hodley and Henry
Wachman were out scalybark hunting
at Millertown recently, the former was
bitten by a snake. Tho badly frightenedi
the boy had sufficient presence of mind
to suck the poison from the bitten lini*>>
and then hurry to the hospital for treat
ment. We are glad to say that Charles
now shows no bad results from the e*'
perience.
Mr. W. H. Russell had a painful acct
dent a few days ago. He was pullinl
on a large wrench, which slipped
the nut and struck him over the left eye-
It was an ugly blow, and laid him off
several days.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl M. Morgan a”'*
young son, Earl, Jr., left this week

future home.
Miss Helen Trexler, of Salisbury,

Dunham, of Tallassee Avenue, during ^
