Jackson, PhoMIc Harold Hanson, Sp(P)2c Photographers More than 25,000 military pilots have ob tained civil pilot certificates through an ac celerated Civil Aeronautics Administration inspection program during the past five months, T. P. Wright, CAA Administrator, reports. More than 2,000 military pilots are being examined weekly by CAA inspectors, with the 3,000 mark being hit two weeks ago. The civil certifications are made pos sible through simplification of CAA rules announced last November. Round-the-World Flights Pan American Airways has indicated that 11 passengers have made reservations for round-the-world flights when and if they are made by the company. PAA stated that such a world encircling trip would be made via Lisbon, Cairo, Calcutta, Tokyo, Seattle and back to New York—a distance of 21,- 000. Flight time would be 88 hours. Ac cording to PAA, “the cost would be ap proximately $700, less than the present round-trip rate to Europe.” This would amount to about 3.3 cents per mile, consid erably under the present domestic fare level. 4,800 Planes in December Total procurement of aircraft and related equipment for the Army and Navy in 1945 will be one-sixth below the plans based on a two-front war, chiefly as a result of re ductions throughout the Army Air Forces program, Fred M. Vinson, director of War Mobilization and Reconversion, said in his The Lighter Side... Finally the Jaygee wrote a note and sent it to the sailor by a waiter. The note read, “I believe that I studied with you at Yale, and the Ensign believes he studied with you at Princeton. Please come over and straighten us out.” The Seaman replied by return note, “I didn’t study with the Ensign at Princeton, nor did I study with you at Yale. But I did study at the National School of Taxidermy, and I’m taking care of this pigeon myself.” July 1 report to Congress and the Presi dent.
