THE PIEDMONITOR. June 1, 1951o Page 6„ on your personnel, not only handling your reserva.tions at Louisviliej but the flight persoyinel as well “ I always find them friendlyj courteous and very patient in their handling of passen gers. I think this kind of service is commeiidable, and you are to be congratulated for it, Mr, B„ Ro Snavely, Vice President of The Wachovia Bank & Trust Company in High Point writes; “Youi' staff is to be congratulated upon the very fine manner in which they.handled the passengers,. Such courteous attention to pa,ssenger comfort is always appreciated.. Your equipment certainly is fa.r superior to that, of any other airline which operates out of the ■ Greensboro-High Point Airport, Those short stops and the ability to maintain a schedule are features which impressed us/" Editor’s iMote:’ Every one should be proud of these e.xp>ress:i!.ons of satisfaction with our service. Such letters help to off-set those lengthly com.plaints of miS -handlings which still come in. WILMINGTON ■ John Wilkes Wilmington crews expect to see lots of familiar faces from other stations now in IMN since the beaches have opened for the Season. Welcom.e down! Gaptain BROWN and Capt. .MALOTT say they will have houses for rent during the Summer., The Crosley Base now has an addition to the fleets as First Officer BERRYHI.LLi has become the owo.er of a new motor scool>er„ Really making it rough on the gas station, operators. Fishing is getting off to a good start. Plenty of a.li kinds. Even Sea Gows have been reported^ but thiSg at present, is unconfirmed. It probably can be confirm.ed by ol’ Salty DOBBIN'S and Gurley BOWDENj as they have been burning the midnight o>il .figuring out a.n on-agaiin“Off* again.s every other o.ays schedule. First Officer A1 .KYLE announces a new 1st officer to Piedmont’s Seniority List a son born May 22. Gapt. MA.LOTT reports another black finger encountered during the last stages on the construction of his new house on. the beach - he says he hasn’t been able to find the hammer that will hit the nail on the head every timeo An old saying is that a man. using his hands to earn a living is called a laborer - one using his hands and brains is ca],led a craftsma,n - and a man u.sing his ha.ndSi, bra.in a.nd his heart in his work is called an artist -■ Wonder how m,a.ny of us tall in the artist ca.tegory? Pete JONES at IMN writes us as follows: “During the month of April we boarded approxi mately 8,3 36 d02,en flowers with most of them going to SDF, CVCs and GHW. We want to thank these stations and also TRI and FAY for their handling. As yet we haven t had a complaint on any of these flower shipments. During the next m,onth we will be shipping hampers of gladiolas for SDF« GVG„ GHW, and GLT for transfer to Florida. We would appre ciate the stations handling these as they have previous flower shipments. We do our best to load them on the plane in a place for quick transfer. With Summer months coming on we believe we will finally make the Gafgo Bulletin, as we expect heavy shipments of flowers. We at IMN are trying to set up the policy of “'helpin.g the other fellow” when it comes to loading cargo for other stations. Being a terminating station we know too well that a Pee- Dee can be all fouled up. It is our aim to load all cargo west of FAY in the nose in .-a posi tion so that it can be easily handled by each station. We would appreciate all constructive criticism from you people up the line, * sjt sje T. H. DAVIS was guest speaker at the Nor,folk Kiwanis Glub on May 2.
