William R. Reese Saturday, August 12, at ii p.m, in an impressive double-ring ceremony in the First Baptist Church of Highlands. Vows were spoken to Dr. Robert Crapps, of Furman University, Greenville, S, C., supply minister. Mrs. Glen Shuler presented a program of wedding music prior to the ceremor^ with Mrs. Calvin Anderson as soloist. t&*s. Anderson sang, "lybre” and "The Lord's Prayer”. Given in marriage by her father, Jft*. Tudor Calloway, the bride was attired in a floor-length gown of white lace over satin. She wore a shoulder-length veil and carried a bouquet of white carnations. Miss Kathy Roper, cousin of the bride, was maid of honors Misses Celia and Teresa Calloway, sisters of the bride, and Miss I^tty Roper, cousin of the bride, were bridesmaids. Mss Freda Calloway, sister of the bride, was flower girl. They wore floor-length dresses of light blue with matching veils, and carried bouquets of pink gladiolas. Ifr. Larry Reese, brother of the groom, was best man. Ushers were Doyle Calloway, Mr. Clarence Potts, and Tony Calloway, brother of the bride. Russell Calloway, brother of the bride, was ring bearer. The mother of the bride wore a navy dress with red rosebud corsage. The groom's mother wore (C015»T ON PAGE 16) NO EPISCOPAL TOUR THIS WEEK The usual Episcopal Home Tour will not be held this Friday afternoon. The Episcopal Tours will be resumed on Fri day, August 25th, when the last home to be visited will also be the site of the library Tea. All proceeds from this final tour will be given to the Hudson Library. Reseirvations for the August 2^th tour can be made by telephoning $26-2hhh before noon on that day. DEATH TAKES WILLIAM L. KEENER William Leander Keener, 81, of Route 1, died in the Highlands-Cashiers Hospital iSunday morning, August 13, af ter a brief illness. He was a native of Macon County, a retired farmer and a member of Gold mine Baptist Church. Surviving are the widow, Mrs* Nettie Ray Keener; two sons,, William Lee of Cedar Mountain and Len Ray Keen er of West Palm Beach, Fla#; three daughters, Mrs. Richard Zoellner and Mrs. Phil Tate of Highlands and Mrs. Johnny Dills of Fountain, Colo,; four brothers, Henry and Isaac, both of Highlands, George of Franklin and John Keener of Brevard; three sisters, Mrs* Charlie Soundheimer of Franklin and Mrs. Charlotte Talley and Mrs. Aden Penland of Highlands; 17 grandchildren.
