ignited a 8-2 spurt at the
(iartof the second half, scoring
baskets himself to send
ttiebroncs into a 47-36 lead that
itie 'Dogs were never able to
overcome. The Broncos increa-
^ their lead to 13 points on
i»o separate occaisions. at 58-
4^ and 71-58. The Bulldogs were
able to cut both leads down to
six points, but were never any
closer.
The 'Dogs cut the lead to 62-56
«th eight and a half minutes to
play in the game, but a turnover
nndreneath the basket kept AC
from cutting the gap to four.
Fayetteville St. then inserted
McNeil into the line-up, and
sieadily increased their advan
tage in the final minutes.
Peoples, along with mcNeil,
the two five footers on the
Bronco's squad ran down the
Bulldogs with the FSU version
of the four corners in the final
six minutes, drawing numerous
one-and one foul opportunities
to preserve the victory.
The teams exchanged leads
only twice during the game, in
the early part of the first half,
but the Broncos began to esta
blish theirselves underneath the
basket, and at times were
scoring at will. AC stayed within
two points for most of the first
half, but Richard Robinson and
Willian Person ignited an 8-3
spurt to put FSU up by seven at
the half, 39-32.
The loss dropped ACto 4-4
overall and 2-2 in District 26
play, while Fayetteville State
upped their record to 2-2 overall
and also in the District.

LADIES WHIP FALCONS
Tyra Boyd explode^ nji ja
points and Becky Pace added 14
to lead the Atlantic Christian's
women's basketball team to its
second consecutive win, a 77-52
victory over St. Augustine’s
•Monday Night at Wilson Gym.
The win boosted AC to 2-1
overall, while St. Aug’s fell to
2-5. Both teams placed two
players in double figures, with
the Lady Falcons getting the
scoring help from Tanya Gibbon
"ho bucketed 10, and Jackie
Cumbo, who netted 11.
Boyd asserted herself by
scoring six unanswered points
from the field, boosting the AC
lead from 19-18 to 25-18 midway
the first half. After St. Aug’s
trimmed the margin to 27-24 on
a Jackie Conyers free throw,
Boyd and Pace combined for the
next nine ACpoints to boost the
margin up to 36-28 just before
the half.
The second half belonged
exclusively to Boyd and the
Bulldogs, who blasted out to a
57-41 advantage with just over
nine minutes remaining in the
contest. During that spree,
Boyd accounted for ten of the
tallies for AC, including the last
six of the drive. St. Aug’s never
tintracked in the second half,
falling behind by as many as
twenty-three before one final
spurt that produced the final
margin.
AC experienced difficulty at
‘*'e foul line, hitting 13 of 24
^ttempts, way off the sizzling 31
tor 42 showing of Saturday night
Against Wingate. The Lady Bull-
<*gs hit just 6 of 13 in the first
which partially kept the
ons in the contest until the
^eond half barrage.
