N. H. Collisson N. H. Collisson and M. Vice Presidents N. H. Collisson of Pisgah Forest, N. C., and M. F. Meissner of East Alton, Illinois, have been ap pointed Vice Presidents for Operations of Olin Industries, Inc., to assist F. S. Elfred, Exscutive Vice President in the administration of the Com pany’s various divisions. The announcement was made by Mr. John M. Olin, President. Mr. Collisson, who has been General Manager of the Olin Cellophane Division, Pisgah Forest, since 1951, will, as Vice President for Operations, administer the Film, Paper, Forest Products and Electrical Divisions. The Film Division is the former Olin Cellophane Division and the Paper Division is the former Ecusta Paper Division. Mr. Collisson, a native of Philadelphia, was a civil engineer for 17 years. He is former Chief of the E. C. A. Mission to Germany and the for mer Special Assistant to the Secretary of the In terior. Mr. Collisson attended grade and high school at Ocean City, N. J., and graduated from Swarth- more College, Swarthmore, Pa., with a B. S. de gree in Civil Engineering. He began an engineer ing career in 1925 with his brother as a partner in an Ocean City, N. T- firm of civil engineers. He was Chief Power Engineer of the Atlantic City Electric Company from 1936 to 1938. He then became Chief Power Engineer for the Amer ican Gas and Electric Service Company, New York, a position which he held until he went into the service as a Navy Lieutenant in 1942. He was in the service five years advancing to Captain. In addition to World War II Service Ribbons, Mr. Collisson received the Secretary’s Ribbon of M. F. Meissner F. Meissner Appointed For Operations Commendation, Legion of Merit, and a Gold Star in lieu of a second Legion of Merit. He holds an honorary degree of Doctor of En gineering from the University of Heidelberg, Germany. Mr. Collisson was Chief Engineering Officer, Office of Procurement and Material, Third Naval District; Officer in Charge, Navy Department, Operating Plant of York Safe and Lock Company, York, Pa, and Deputy Administrator, Naval Pe troleum Plants Office, Washington, D. C. Mr. and Mrs. Collisson and their four children live in Hendersonville, N. C. Mr. Meissner, who has been General Manager of the Metals Division with headquarters at East Alton, as Vice President for Operations, will ad minister the Arms and Ammunition, Explosives, Ramset and Metals Divisions. He will also act as General Manager of the Metals Division. A native of Plainfield, N. J., Mr Meissner came to Olin in 1950 from the Westinghouse Electric Corporation where, in 1945, as Assistant to the Vice President, he received the Company’s Order of Merit for distinguished service. Mr. Meissner attended grade and high school in Plainfield, N. J. He graduated from Lehigh Uni versity of Science degree in chemistry and from Princeton University’s Graduate School in 1935 with a Master of Arts degree. He received a Rhodes scholarship for study at Oxford, England, 1935 to 1938, and was presented with a Ph. D. for research work in physical chemistry. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi, hon orary scholastic societies. 2
