SAFETY PLAQUE IS AWARDED TO EMPLOYEES OF THE
PAPER DIVISION
Eddie Grauer of the Liberty Mutual Insurance
Company presented a safety plaque to employees
of the Paper Division on June 9 for having
worked 3,000,000 man-hours without a disabling
injury. L. F. Dixon accepted the engraved, stain
less steel plaque on behalf of the employees.
The record, made between January 2, 1953 and
April 16, 1954, set a new world’s safety record for
tissue mills.
Others participating in the program, which was
attended by 84 supervisors, were Lee M. Bauer and
Patrick L. Clark, Senior Safety Engineer of Liberty
Mutual, from Charlotte.
The plaque is now on the wall in the Paper
Division Cafeteria.
