Homecoming events splash campus
By CHRIS FREDRICKSON
Alumni, students and parents
crowded the campus this past week
end for homecoming, enjoying the
festivities despite stormy weather.
Over a special Alumni lunch,
past Brevard College classes reuinited
with old friends and checked out new
additions to the campus.
Alumni took some time to look
at yearbooks in Coltrane Commons
and share memories with friends and
even current students. Students be
came acquainted with Brevard gradu
ates, who shared some of the things
that have changed over the years.
Students also took advantage of
the activities planned for them. On
Friday, the students took place in Bi
zarre Wars. They enjoyed such
events as the tug of war and building
marshmallow houses.
Participants attended many of
the activities, including baseball, vol
leyball and soccer games. Though the
volleyball and baseball teams lost their
match and game, their fellow athletes
picked up wins. Boys soccer won 3-

queen. Davis left the announcement
with his velvet crown and a little jig.
Troy Mathers won the position of
homecoming prince and Alyssa
Schutte is our freshman princess.
Saturday night, students rocked
the gym for the annual dance.
This homecoming was a
memorable event for the freshmen
and seniors at Brevard. This will be
remembered as the first college home
coming for freshmen and the last for
the seniors. It is also very special due
to its designation of the last home
coming in the 20* century.
