The photographs on these two pages introduce a new teacher here at
Chowan, Mark Wolfe of the photography department. He teaches freshman
photography and is responsible for leading his students through the mysteries of
image making.
Wolfe comes to Chowan from Rochester Institute of Technology where he
studied Black and White, Color Photogrophy, Commercial Photography, Adver
tising, Filmmaking, Television Production and Direction, Computer Graphics,
Graphic Film Production, and Animation. He has been an avid photographer for
more than ten years and has worked in a wide variety of photographic jobs.
While at RIT, he also taught a course in animation and film.
After experimenting with filmmaking tor a year, Wolfe has returned to still
photography. While at RIT, he did experimental work with animated films, as
well as using computers to generate images for films. He produced a short
three-dimensional computer film, where the viewer could actually see depth in
the image when special colored glasses were worn.
Wolfe views teaching his students as a unique challenge, and is looking for
ward to a good year at Chowan.
