True
Life it’s such an unpredictable thing
•You learn something one day
The whole meaning changes the next
You fall in love then fall out
Pick the pieces up, then do it again
Like a chain of heartaches
That will never end
Why not have a love that could never hurt
One that will support you
Whatever you do
Never unfaithful, but just plain true
Whenever things start out
They are thought of as one
Though it could never be true
For you live for you, not only one
So why be unhappy trying to be one
Live for yourself
And the one will be two
And forever be true.

Best Friends
We’re all best friends.
We shared everything.
We laughed,
We cried.
We fought,
But most important...
We talked.
Talked about each others problems.
Talked about funny things,
and the sad things too.
Even when we were silent,
we were still talking together.
Then suddenly we’re apart.
Everyone went their...
own way.
We all write to keep in touch.
But still that doesn’t help much.
It all happened at Chowan,
That’s where we all met.
We all grew together, the five of us,
into a special friendship.
We’re all sad that we’re apart,
but we all keep each other in heart.
It’s all because our friendship
is a special one,
all because...
We’re...

TheASVAB
Is Coming
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Bat
tery (ASVAB) is a paper and pencil test provid
ed at no cost to you by the Armed Services. It
provides you with both academic and occupa
tional scores. The ASVAB consists of 10 short
tests which cover the areas of General Science,
Arithmetic Reasoning, Word Knowledge,
Paragraph Comprehension, Numerical Opera
tions, Coding Speed, Auto and Shop Information,
Mathematics Knowledge, Mechanical Com
prehensive, and Electronics Information.
If you took this test in high school, you can
take it again. This, in no way, obligates you to
the military services. The scores received on the
ASVAB can be used to qualify for military
enlistment for up to two years.
The ASVAB is the most widely used aptitude
test in schools today. The results can be used for
both military and civilian career explorations.
The student will be sent a copy of his-her
scores and can then use the Career Guide found
in the Chowan Career Center (basement of Col
umns Building) to study the opportunities
available to them.
