OVER HEARD PLANT #1: Pictured above are members of the ADAMI CLUB at their annual Christmas party. Virginia Wood was not present when the picture was made. Does anyone remember this former Little League ball player for Adams-Millis? It's Randy Jones, son of Luke Jones of the Finishing Department. Randy is now attending Appalachian State Teachers' College at Boone, N. C. While your reporter was snoop ing around trying to dig up news for the AMCO, she found that Lucille Walker had received word that her father was quite ill in Yadkinville Hospital. She made a rush trip to his bedside, but found his condition not as bad as first thought. Hope he will continue to improve. During Christmas vacation, Floread Stephens visited her family in South Carolina , and Gwendolyn Gregory visited in Tennessee. Sadie Harris says that she did not go any where, but that her daughter from Tennessee visited her. Pauline Kindley's sister from Florida spent the holidays with her. Jerri Hedrick is mighty happy these days. The reason? She says they finally got rid of the lemon they were driving. Something was always happening to it, but the last straw was when the transmission fell out Sunday when they decided to go for a drive. Now, they're sporting a brand new car. Better luck with this one ! We're glad to have Blanche Ward back in the finishing room; she under went surgery recently. We are also glad to see that "Lil" Hill, of the Ship ping Department, is about to get straightened out after having a broken wrist during the holidays. Jack Mabe says he has finally gotten his new house finished and moved in. Sounds real nice. And, by the way, they also have a new addi tion to the new house--a little boy, Matthew, who is two months old. Has anyone noticed the proud look on Bill Swaney's face? He's a brand new granddaddy--and doesn't feel one bit older. Margaret Beeson didn't get a picture, but she says she wishes we could have seen the expression on her six-year-old granddaughter's face when she caught her first fish on a fishing trip recently. She was so ex cited and thrilled--but more scared. In fact, the fright was so great that she just let the fish go. - 15 -
