Fall intramurals
termed huge success
By DUSTIN SHIVAR
The Student Government
Association of Wayne
Community College held an
awards banquet in Moffatt
Auditorium on Tuesday,
October 31, to honor the
winners of its annual
intramural sports leagues.
This semester’s intramural
sports consisted of ping-pong,
pool, and flag football.
The intramural football
league consisted of 4 teams,
each consisting of 10
players—8 active and 2
reserves.
Each game ran for 40
minutes with a 3-minute rest
break between each 10-
minute quarter.
Team members chose their
own team names: the
Redskins, Headhunters,
Ravens, Buccaneers, and It
Don’t Matter.
Assistants at the flag
football games included
Steven Hannum and Eric
Anderson, line officials; and
Kristin Cottle, timekeeper.
Wayne Parson, Director of
Student Activities, said the
idea of an intramural league
had been in mind for some
time; students urged its start
this fall.
