Page 6 Food Committee Meeting by Forrest Hughes The Senate Food Committee met on Wednesday, Oct. 1, to organize and to discuss the needs of the Guilford cafeteria. Present were eight students, Ron Short, and Jin King from Epicure and Ken Schwab, director of student personnel and John Marge not, one of the vegetarian cooks. The first order of businesi was to select leaders. Jell Martin is the new chairperson of the committee and Barbara Ropp and Forrest Hughes are co-vice-chairpeople. The Committee members will ask questions of cafeteris eaters about particular meals and the food in general during three different mealtimes each week throughout the year. The responses to these questions will be correlated and turnec over to Ron and Jim for then to work with. Hopefully, the food service can thus be improved in the directions thai students desire. Several suggestions were made during the meeting itself as to possible improve ments in Epicure's service Among these were the chances of having working toasters, moving the gril room hours from Saturday nights to Sunday nights putting up a daily meni outside the cafeteria doors anc the setting up of suggestior boxes. The point was brought out that is a relatively simple procedure to get a meal for a sick friend who is unable to get to the cafeteria. All you have to do is get a filled-out green card from your intern or resident co-ordinator and present it, at the cafeteria. Then you can get a hot plate to take back to the dormitory. The Food Committee meet ings are open to anyone who has complaints or suggestion they would like to voice. The next meeting will be held during lunch on Tuesday in the back dining room. mlirZfm ; mo 4 Photo by Catee OPENING OF STUDENT DARKROOM IN FOUNDERS will be one of several concerns under discussion Wednesday October 8, at 10:00 a.m., when the Campus Association of Photographers will meet for ratification of a constitution and election of officers.
