The four home rooms of the highest contest ants were guests of the Bailey Theater., owned by Mr. John Burgess• Other representatives l*oaise Wells Shelby Jean Williamson in the contest were Mildred Pinch SOPHOMORE AND SEVENTH GRADER WALK OFF WITH POPULARITY TITLE Mary Ann Miller, high school winnerj and Shelby Jean Williamson of the seventh grade were crowned popu larity queens at the Halloween Carnival held in the gymnasium Friday night, October 28. Rxinner up for the school was Mildred Finch of the twelfth and for grammar grades, Louise Wells of the fifth grade. Crowning the queens brought to a close a contest sponsored by the P.T.A. to make funds for the school program. The contest ran for one week, and votes were one cent each. Mrs. Brooks Privette, president of the P.T.Aj crowned the queens and presented them with gifts donated from Rocky Mount stores. Mary Ann Miller re- cieved a pin from Fox’s; Mildred Finch, a compact from Jewel Jane Morgan, LaRue Winstead, Geraldine Glover, Shirley Bryant, Jean Strickland, Joyce Thompson, Audrey Finch, Clara Manning, Gwen Buygess, Janet Weaver, Phyllis Manning, and Bettv Beard. and eoommii cbixlhh inei vha/idise ' ^ecavmtai prices
