BAILEY BUGLE. BAILEY. NORTH CAROLIM, MARCH, 19^? ^AGE TqQH^ /\q€^I OfjS S S — — Lois Ihigpen Well, fellow teenagers, especially juniors and sen iors, it's practically the end of school; that means the Junior-Senior Banquet is just around the corner. This being so, let’s talk about etiquette and man ners this month. Girls, did you knoviT the fellow who takes you to the banquet and presents you with a corsage is sup posed to receive in return, a carnation, usually white, to wear in his lapel? It's your duty to buy it, also. Boys, did you know if you ask a girl to a banquet it is your responsibility to find out the color of her dress and the kind of flow ers she prefers? Also, she See Us For PRESCRIPTION Needs ETHERIDGE DRUG STORE Mn Everydey F fiend* YOUR DRUGGIST Bailfey, N.C. -should receive the flowers at least one hour prior to leaving for the banquet. Please be up-to-date in your manners. Nothing em barrasses a girl more than a fellow who doesn't re member to assist with her coat, open doors, and seat her at the table first. This embarrassment goes double for boys and girls when either forgets his table manners or talks so loud and boisterous he is heard above everyone else. Never, never, never, should you, girls, "remake yourself" ^t the table or in the public presence of others. See that all nec essary primping is done in the £;irls ' waiting room. Likewise, keep the table clear. Do not clutter the table or mar decorations by putting your gloves or purse on the table. Leave your v/raps in the dressing room. Be wise, girls. Be sure you thank yoiu* escort for the flovrers, tell him how much you enjoyed the eve ning, and, above all, tell the fellow how glad you were to attend the banquet with him. After all, you might want him to call again. Yes, it's a memorable event. Let's remember it by the things we did right, not the things we did wong or forgot.
