Interest Cafeteria Maintains High Standards Daily, 75 per cent of the student body has eaten lunch in the Grade A cafe teria, the record shows. To take care of this num ber, Mrs. Ruth Lewis, man ager, has two assistants, Mrs, Ruth Strickland and Mrs, Sudie Lamm, There are 20 to 25 student workers. For "their cooperative spirit" these workers were given a booster parly by their managers. Mrs. Lewis points out that the staff assures eve ry person eating in the cafeteria his seven basic food elements every day. Lassiter, head of the department, sup plies the 102 students in the department with spe cial activities in order to give them experience in their selected fields. The 20 students in the bookkeeping class discov ered they had to apply every phase of their book keeping when they encoun tered the "Dean Practice! Set." By one student's taking dictation from M. W. Weaver, principal, each day, the 20 shorthand stu dents expect to gain more skill and experience. For special emphasis in typing II, Mrs, Lassiter is giving the "Ten Key Adding Listing Machine Course" to the 22 students enrolled. CONTACT GR.ADE5 (continued from pg llX Harvey Evans's eight grade. Ihrough this study, they learned how to help solve the problems of teen-agers. Out of the number of stu dents playing in the Bailey High School Band, 2[|. are grade students. Two clubs have been or ganized in the grades. The Class Club, started by Miss Parker's class, has helped them "to have a bet ter time together," says their teacher. The purpose of the Good Citizenship Club, organized by the sev enth grade is, according to Miss Bissette, their toachor, "to help the mem bers become better citi zens of the school and country."
