October 4, 1954 THE FULL MOON Page 5 Concord B-Team Defeats Bullpups Robert Q. Smith and Glenn Tal bert starred as the Albemarle Bullpups went down to defeat against the Concord B-team 6-0 last week. The only score of the game came in the third quarter. This was the first game of the season for the AHS B-team. Outstanding on defense were Elliott Gaddy, Charles Smith, and David Grigg. Grigg recovered three Concord fumbles. Other members of the squad turned in creditable performances. School Band Has New Letter Girls Myra Efird, Pat Allen, and Jeanette Hinson are the new let ter girls in the Albemarle High School Band for this year. The letter girls are dressed in short white suits, trimmed with blue fur around the legs, arms, and neck. Although they did not start marching with the band until a week before the first game with Winecoff, they have proved that they can learn to march and keep up with the band. As the girls are on the marching field they are from left, to right with the letters A.H.S.; Jeanette, Pat and Myra. L A. C. Bible Club Holds First Devotional The Bible Club had a devo tional over the public address system Monday morning. Announcer was Gene Burris, who introduced Pat Starnes. Pat urged all students to get their free copy of “Why Should This Happen to Me” in the lobby of the school. Johnsie Russell made a speech, and the music was re cordings by the Fred Waring choir. Devotions will be held once a month over the public address system. The purpose of this pro gram is to help stimulate interest in devotions and help students look forward to Monday morn ings instead of dreading them.
