Cleo Perry retires from Alumnae Affairs rmi — ■ I by Kim Allen Cleo Perry, Director of Alumnae Af fairs, formally retired September 30. Perry has served as the director for the past 10 years, since July I, 1976. Before that, she had served as the Associate Direc tor of Alumnae Affairs for a year. As Director of Alumnae Affairs, Perry was responsible for a variety of things. She was in charge of the dog-gallery and the Mae Grimmer House. She served as a liai son between the college and the alumni, as well as being advisor for the Cranddaugh- ter Club. One of her most important jobs was to get the support of the alumni, because as she explains, “When we give, it helps everyone at Meredith.” As for her future plans, she is undecided. She will probably travel, relax, and garden. She says that she will miss everything! The people, students, faculty, administra tion, and campus. But she is also quick to add that she expects to come back every- time that she is invited and sometimes when she is not. Perry says that this is sad time and a happy time, because she has always been involved with Meredith. She was student from ’41-’45, served as president of the Alumnae Association from ’66-’68, and later filled her previous position as director. Cleo Perry has retired from her positic n at Meredith, but her memory will linger on.
