News Briefs IBM announced Tuesday plans to sell its South Afiican subsidiary, becoming the second major U JS. corporation in two days to pull out of business in the racial strife- torn country. General Motors Coip. was the first International Business Machines Coip., the biggest computer company, said the worsening economic and political climate prompted its decision to sell IBM South Africa to local interests. A statement made Tuesday by the Revolutionary Justice Organization in Bei rut said it had abducted Edward Austin Tracy, 55, of Rutiand, VT., one of the few Americans who stayed in the west Beirut area despite the seizure of over 60 foreign ers there since Januai> 1984. Tracy is a well-known Beirut character and writes children’s books and poetry. He is among seven Americans who are still missing in Lebanon. Television evangelist Pat Robinson filed twin $35 million libel suits against former Rep. Paul McCloskey and Rep. Andrew Jacobs, D-Ind, over claims Robertson used his father's influence to avoid combat duly in Korea. Floyd W. Cook, 35, was charged Wednesday with the sale and delivery of marijuana. Cook gave his daughter to the drug dealer, who took her inside his motel room while Cook returned to his car. Four minutes later. Cook returned, gave the man $40 and got his child back.
