FROM WARREIVS DESK GOOD PEOPLE WORKING TOGETHER TODOA BETTERJOB When we first started an awareness campaign, Mike asked me if we should change the slogan to “Good people working together doing a better job.” I said “No,” because even though I liked it better, it implied we were “there.” You and I know that isn’t true. We are close; always so close. Why we never get there is because we don’t work together For us to work together, each other’s problems have to become our own. All of us like our job and W&J Rives, but most of us don’t work for the company. We work for ourselves. That lack of common focus denies us the real measure of our worth. Until we come together and truly work as a team to help each other and the company, we will always have these nagging problems. Think about it just like you do your church. You are the company. The company will only prosper when you prosper. You have not decided you are going to have a great com pany. I have, but as a whole you have not. It can’t be my pro blem or Randy’s or Mike’s. It has to be your problem. When we lose good employees, how many of you fight to keep them? When we have problems, how many of you jump up and get involved. Teamwork, attitude, cooperation: without them we will be very normal. We have the unique opportunity to achieve something really great at W&J Rives. Something nice, warm, and wholesome, but it won’t happen by itself. You have got to get involved, everyday—everywhere. Believe me when I say I need you and I’m counting on you, because I believe what we are about is worth all of my energy and commitment. Thanks for a great 10 years. God bless all of you.
