Barber Grandchild Shown here is Nel lie Mae Land, who is 11 years old. Nellie Mae is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Land. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Barber. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Brown announce the birth of a son, Steven Leslie. Thomas is an announcer at the radio station in North Wilkesboro. Friends of J. B. Sherwood will be glad to know that he is home from the hos pital and recuperating. Will Thomas Berkley celebrated a birthday last week. Sorry to hear that Mildred Turner is sick at this writing. Funderburk Children Wildlife Group To Meet A discussion of local hunting will feature the program at the meeting of the Leaksville Township Chapter of the Rockingham County Wildlife Club Tuesday, December 5, at 7:30 p. m. in the Municipal Building at Spray. Marshall Meeks of the Shearing Dept, at the Finishing Mill, president of the Chapter, will preside. The public is in vited. Tom Thumb Bride Anna Barr Lea was the bride in a Tom Thumb Wedding at Burton Grove School Thursday evening, November 2. Anna Barr is six years old and is in the first grade at Burton Grove. Her father is the produc tion control man in the superintendent’s office at the Bed spread Mill. Her grandmother, Mrs. Opal Bateman, works at the General Office. Anna Barr’s paternal grandfather, J. F. Lea, is a long- service employee of “ the Rayon Weave Anna Barr Lea Room. 1'- "I Shirley (left) and Robert Funderburk are children of Mrs. Pearly Funderburk of the Sheeting Cloth Room. Patricia Kaye’s step-grandfather, Wil liam Freeman, works in the Sheeting Spinning. Wounded In Korea Picture shows Jack Chaney, son of Jim and Carrie Chaney. Mother is employed in the , Sheeting Spinning i Dept. Jack was , wounded in Korea ■ and brought back to - the hospital at Fort Bragg. He is reported to be getting along ; nicely. His m a n y ‘ friends are wishing for him complete and speedy recovery from his wounds. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Webb, Mrs. Ed Sturgis and Miss Barbara Lay, of Gas tonia, visited Mrs. Ella Lay over the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Rhyne visited relatives in Mount Holly over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nixon and Mrs. Wess Nixon, of Reidsville, were guests of Mrs. H. M. Gillespie Sunday. J. D. Chambers, who has been a pati ent in the Veterans’ Hospital in Beth- esda, Md., spent the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Chamb ers. Mr. and Mrs. Lon Fain, Mrs. Margaret Shockley, and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Fain visited relatives in Altavista, Va., and Lynchburg, Va., Sunday.
