Junior Council Social Is Enjoyable Affair , » U'l _1I"' i. k Pictures above show scenes at the social enjoyed by members of the Junior Carolina Council and their guests at Meadow Greens Country club Friday evening, April 2. Velma Newnam, president, presided over a brief business session during which officers were elected for the next Council year. Jeff Hunt was in charge of the program and presented Mr. and Mrs. Walter Vassar of Greensboro who provided musical entertainment and led the crowd in group singing of several numbers. Mr. Vassar sang several solos requested by the audience. Mary Stephens was chairman of the nominating com mittee which presented a slate of officers which was un animously adopted. Officers chosen were: president, Jeff Hunt; vice president, Robert Powell; secretary-treasurer, Jane Hill; assistant secretary-treasurer, Preston Hopkins; program chairman, Martha Brame; attendance chairman, Vergie Davis; constitution chairman, Cuma Odell; refreshment and en tertainment chairman, Charlie Luther; song leader.
