Princeton Group To See Products Livingstone To Speak And Show Domestics Lines For Women’s Club Dwight Livingstone, assistant director training, will speak to the Present Club, a women’s group in Prince- ton, New Jersey, Wednesday afternoon, October 27 on the subject “Textiles in Colors for Your Home.” He will 'describe and display samples of some the leading products in our domestics He will show Royal Velvet and Deauville towels, the Triumph Jacquard blanket, the new Rockingh am summer weight blanket, fitted Lux- uray blanket, Mar- Ray Blanket and the May Garden screen print blankets, plus three colors of the Sydney all-wool blanket. He will display the new Nylomar %lon blend blanket, a Pompey Red ®^ectric blanket, and will show scallop- sheets, fitted sheets, embroidered sheets, and our complete line of colored and screen printed sheets. . Sanforized bedspreads he will show 'delude our Marionette jacquard patt- the Concord colonial type spread in "'hite and natural, a Stardust pattern a complete ensemble of our Day- *’6ak patterns. He also will display discuss Crosspoint, the simulated and crocheted spread for which our Research Dept, developed an entirely Weave and perfected the loom Modifications necessary for making the spread Which looks like handiwork. Livingstone will speak following a luncheon at the clubhouse on Stock- street in Princeton. Last week’s speaker before the Present Day Club ^as Dr. Frank P. Graham, former presi- 6nt of the University of North Caro lina and United States Senator from State who is associated with the *iited Nations. Frederic W. Hoit, •eldcrest vice president in charge of ^niestics sales, previously spoke before club. Karastan Gets New Continuous Scouring Machine ■! —lUfllWIIIII lliWI" IITT" " ' I'lVlNGSTONE This latest-model Sargents 4-bowl continuous skein scouring machine was put into operation at the Karastan Rug Mill October 1. The new unit gives im proved quality of scouring and the extra capacity needed for new machinery al ready installed at Karastan and addi tional machinery expected to be in stalled early in 1955. The former boiler room space at Karastan was remodeled to make room for the new scouring machine which is approximately 75 feet long. A part of the building alterations was construction of a new room for chemical storage, soap mixing tanks, etc., providing the Dyeing Department with badly needed additional space. Mrs. Martholyn M. Hill of the Spooling Dept, is to report Towel Mill news and Mrs. Fannie Hundley of the Sewing De partment will report the news from the Sewing Department and Bleachery. Mrs. Hundley also plans to work with Mrs. —_ Warren in connection MRS. hil, with the “Town Drag” column. Mrs. Hill is a native of Henry County and first worked at the Towel Mill m 1945 She is married to Jack B. mii of the Piece Dye Department of the Towel Mill, and they have one son Larry David, about 21-months old. She is a graduate of Bassett High School. Mrs Hundley was born in Henry County and attended Henry county choolss. She has been employed at Field- crest for about 15 years. She is a mem ber and is active in the affairs of Field- dale Baptist Church. She is a very civic- minded person in terested in the com- munity, its activities MRS. HUNDLEY and welfare. S. s. Flythe Appointed To Highway Commission s. s. Flythe of Fieldale has been ap pointed to the Virginia State Highway Commission by Governor Thomas B. Stanley. The appoint ment was announced October 11 and Mr. Flythe qualified Oc tober 13. He at tended his first meet ing with the full Commission in Rich mond October 19. He represents the Salem road district compris ed of Henry, Patrick, Carroll, Pulaski, S. S. FLYTHE Giles, Montgomery, Botetourt, Bedford and Roanoke counties. Mr. Flythe, now president of the First National Bank in Martinsville, main tains his home at Fieldale, where he was vice president and cashier of the Bank of Fieldale for 19 years before going to the Martinsville bank as execu tive vice president in January, 1947. He became president of the First National Bank in September, 1954. He has long been active in community af fairs at Fieldale and had an active part in the successful establishment of Fiel- dale Sanitary District some years ago. A native of Jackson, N. C., Mr. Flythe is a former employee of the Fieldcrest Mills company, having worked in our Payroll Department around 1925 or 1926, before going with the Spray branch, Leaksville Bank and Trust Company. He married the former Miss Virginia White of Edenton, who taught at Spray graded school.
