DAVID J. TAYLOR HERMAN J. COBB, JR. Promotions Announced In Marketing Division Two promotions in the Fieldcrest Marketing Division have been announc ed, effective January 1. David J. Taylor was appointed di- vison vice president-Fieldale towels and Herman J. Cobb, Jr., was appoint ed manager of sales promotion and company stores. Mr. Taylor joined Fieldcrest in 1964 as a sales trainee. He was appointed assistant manager of Fieldale towels in 1969, and manager in 1971. D. M. Tracy, president of the Field crest Marketing Division, cited Mr. Tay lor’s promotion to division vice presi dent as “a mark of his outstanding per formance for Fieldcrest Mills, Inc.” Mr. Taylor will continue to report to F. X. Larkin, vice president and mer chandise manager of towels. Mr. Cobb joined Fieldcrest in 1967 as a sales representative in San An tonio, Texas. He later moved to Hous ton, Texas. Mr. Cobb’s promotion will take him to New York, the home of the Fieldcrest Marketing Division. Mr. Tracy commented concerning Mr. Cobb’s appointment, “by promoting men from our field operation, we are strengthening the marketing and sales efforts of our main office.” Mr. Cobb will report to J. Charles Irving Hicks is a 1971 grad uate of Morehead High School. He is now attending Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, Ga., in the music- organ program. He plans to continue his education in music at East Caro lina State University. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred W. Hicks of Eden. His mother, Sunshine, is a burler at the Karastan Rug Mill. Barbara Ray Lassiter, a 1969 gradu ate of West Davidson High School in Linwood, is attending the University of North Carolina at Charlotte major ing in elementary education. She plans to teach elementary education. Her par ents are Mr. and Mrs. Jesse R. Lassi- Patterns Str( ter of Linwood. Mr. Lassiter is employ ed at North Carolina Finishing Co. Reginald Manns is a 1972 graduate of Morehead High School. He is attend ing North Carolina Central University majoring in physical education. He plans to be a coach. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Milton H. Manns of Eden. His mother, Barbara, is a plain hem sewer at the Sheet Finishing Mill. Deborah Ann Martin is a 1972 grad uate of Morehead High School. She is attending Barber-Scotia College in the entry level program, a new program in the field of education. She is the dau ghter of Mrs. Martha Martin Battle who is employed at the Blanket Greige Mill. Doris Jean Rea, a 1972 graduate of Morehead High School, is enrolled in the nursing program at Rockingham Community College. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. John W. Rea, III, of Eden. Her father is employed at the Bed spread Mill. Her mother, Mary Ann, is employed at the Sheet Finishing Mill. Karen Kay Solesbee is a 1970 grad uate of Rowan High School in Salis bury. Nuance is also Kara-loc woven of all Antron nylon face. The 22 colorways duplicate those of Andiameau, includ ing a new Green Bronze. Flaneur is a concept of soft self-ton ed design effects interpreted in an all nylon face textured plush carpet. This design comes in 18 colors including Twinkle Pink and Mandarin Orange. Belleau is the classic twist carpet with the new “twist.” It is made of a spe cial blend of 80% wool and 20% nylon pile yarns. It is available in 17 colors including Vibrance Green and Cocoa Creme. Venteau combines continuous fila ment and staple nylon yarns in its tex tured plush pile. Offered in 18 color^ Venteau is designed for easy care and casual living. Essentiale is the first of two new groups of carpets engineered for heavy duty use in the home and compnercial y areas. Initially, two styles are being , introduced, though other designs will follow. The first patterns, Essentials #132, is a “stria” or irregular stripe in a looped and cut-pile texture woven in brilliant multi-color combinations. It will be available in 12 striking colors. Essentiale #157 offers a grid design with brilliant tweed colorations. It is also made on the “K loom” but in an all-loop texture, utilizing all Antron II nylon pile yarns plus static-control yarns. It comes in 17 colors. New “Position Weaving” Fortale, the second group of con- tract/residential carpets is the result of the new “position weaving” process on the Kara-loc loom. The first style involves three designs. Fortale #131 an abstract pattern in 16 brilliant tnid' ti-colors. Fortale #187 is a diamond- shaped plaid motif while Fortale #19 features a hexagonal geometric design^ Both #187 and #194 come in the same 12 colorways including Velvet Ruby and Pagoda Jade. Futureau, introduced in 1969, wa® created originally for the famous National Clubhouse in Palm Beach Gar dens, Fla. The first style was a ripplihs abstract pattern in one of the denses and heaviest carpets made by Kara stan. Now, a new “crosshatch” desigt* has been added to the line. The ne'^ Futureau #164 comes in 18 bright skeih' dyed colors, including Oceanic Greet* and Indian Copper. Fortitude features a tailored stag' gered check effect created in heavy' duty all-looped fabric.
