To reach out to others is to risk getting involved. To show your feelings is to risk exposing your hu manity. To place your ideas and dreams before the crowd is to risk their loss. To love is to risk not being loved in return. To hope is to risk pain. To try is to risk failure. But risk must be taken, be cause the greatest haz ard in life is to risk noth ing. The pjerson who risks noth ing does nothing, has nothing, and is nothing. He may avoid suffering and sorrow,but he simply cannot learn, feel, change, grow, live, or love. Only the person who risks is free." -Leo Buscaglia But when it comes to being yourself do you dare to take the risk? To really be your self, you have to know who you are and why you are. As Christians we believe that we are created in the image and likeness of God, and that each of us has been given a special role in life with special talents and opportunities. Some of your classmates seem to have lots of luck, some seem to make their own luck, and some work hard for what they achieve. Some have a hard time in school and some get by without too much ef fort. People are like packages. Think of the package you present to others. The con tents are what you are inside. Your contents include your personality, your feelings, your thoughts, ideas, dreams and goals, your attitude, and your outlook on certain things. The wrapping is what you show on the outside. Your wrapping includes your physical appearance, your smile, your complexion, the way you fix your hair, the clothes you wear and the way you wear them, etc... Conformity has smoth ered so many growing per sonalities. People who could have developed a talent or given a new idea to the world or helped someone, have become empty packages.
