The table was prepared before the altar with four chairs, lighted candles and the communion vessels. Our pastor. Rev. Jay Price, then called up the people who wanted to take communion; husband and wife together with their children, if they are saved and understand the gravity of taking communion unworthy. One chair at the end of the table was empty, with a towel over the back of the chair, symbolic of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Rev. Price read the scripture from Luke concerning the passover supper. Jesus told us to do this in remembrance of Him and how He died for us. ^^^fter communion service was over, the brothers and sisters in Lord washed each others feet as Jesus commanded us to do. Later, all gathered in the fellowship building for an hour of fellowship together. The ladies served cake, pie and coffee during this time. We thank the Lord for all who came to participate in our Easter morning Sunday school and worship service. The old attendance record was broken with 139 present. The church really missed those who were not able to attend because of sickness. Jason Lilly, one of our talented musicians and singers was home sick. He was greatly missed. )|( ))c )|( )|l )|C Rev and Mrs. Jay Price have her parents down from the Asheville area visiting them during the Easter holidays. 9|C 9|( 9l( )|( 9fC The men of the Church started the brickwork on the Fellowship building last Saturday. John Woolard, with the help of others, cooked a pig for dinner. The ladies of the church furnished all the fixings to go with the dinner. The Bible On Trial Along the pathway of life, we have watched the Bible on trial in many different phases. We have watched the people of our day watch anxiously for Easter. Truly, it is a great season, and its message lives on. One thought that is of great concern to many is new outfits. Sure, most all of us do like something new. The meaning of Easter is far greater. We know that the life of all flesh is the blood. The life of the spirit or soul that lives on through eternity is also the blood; that blood is the blood of Jesus. It is the blood of Jesus, and by His M^d only that we can have ^^nal life. Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin. Heb. 9;22. Sin cannot enter into Heaven. All have sinned, and we all need a Savior. He can save us because He paid the price; He gave His life with the shedding of His blood The grave could not hold Him. Now, because He lives, we can also live. John 14:19. If we lay aside every sin and weight, Heb. 12:1, we can run this race successfully and be sanctified, receive that precious gift that was poured out on the day of Pentecost and make the run on through the pearly gates. It is only through the blood that we can have this new life. The children of Israel would not have made it, if they had not applied the blood to their door post as Moses commanded them in obedience to God. Seek the Lord now while your heart is stirred, and you will have living proof that the Bible is right. Today is your opportunity. KEEP A STRONG VOICE IN RALEIGH Excitement At Library Story Hour There was excitement at the Vanceboro-Craven County Public Library last Wednesday at Children’s Story Hour. The Easter Bunny arrived to help launch some helium balloons that carried a message. Also, the Easter Bunny gave out Easter treats to the boys and girls! In addition to the appearance of the bunny, the children enjoyed Easter movies inside of the library. Children’s librarian, Mary Ann Delamar, presented a puppet show about a little girl and a rabbit. Another puppet show was presented by Mrs. Nell Hayes’ art class in Vanceboro. Ninety-two children were at the event. 00» CRAVEN • LENOIR • IWMUCO High Car Prices Got You Down?
