Obituaries MAGGIE Mrs. Maggie Jones Morris, 71, widow of Lathon Morris, died Saturday morning. May 5, in Craven County Hospital in New Bern. The funeral service was conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in the Holly Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church by her pastor. Rev. Bethea Moore, and Dr. Clifton L. Turpin, Superinten dent of the Falcon Children’s Home in Falcon, N.C. Burial was in the Church Cemetery. Mrs. Morris, a native of ^^aven County, spent her ^^uth in the Dover community and her adult life in the Vanceboro community. She was a member of Holly Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church. She is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Joe (Linda) Thomas of Route 1, Vanceboro, Mrs. Creed (Peggy) Mills of Vanceboro, and Mrs. Duane (Gloria) Williams of Green ville: three sons: Jimmie L. Morris and Oral Dean Morris, both of Vanceboro, and Curtis L. Morris of Route 2, Vanceboro; her mother, Mrs. Lizzie Tripp Jones of Vanceboro: three brothers: Ikie L. Jones of Askin, Blonnie J. MORRIS G. Jones of Fort Barnwell, and Noah L. Jones of Suffolk, Virginia: three sisters: Mrs. Theodore Morris of Route 2, Vanceboro, Mrs. Kermit Brinkley of Fayetteville, and Mrs. Eunice Townsend of Suffolk, Virginia: eighteen grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. LEVI ANDERSON Mr. Levi Anderson, 62, died Monday night. May 7, at his home on Route 3, Vanceboro. The funeral service was conducted 'at 3 p. m. Wednesday in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel in Vanceboro by Rev. Jay Price, pastor of West Vanceboro Church of (jod, and Rev. Sam Worthing ton, pastor of the Bath Church of God. Burial was in Celestial Memorial Gardens in Vance boro. Mr. Anderson, a native of Craven County, spent all his life in the Vanceboro community. He was a retired farmer and had attended West Vanceboro Church of God. He is survived by three sons: Calvin Anderson of Route 1, Vanceboro, Johnny Ray and Jackie Anderson, both of Route 3, Vanceboro; four daughters: Mrs. Ernest (Judy) Morris of Route 2, Vanceboro, Mrs. Bobby (Janie) Howard of Beaufort, Mrs. Elijah (Janice) Riggs of Maysville, and Mrs. Larry (Jeannette) Elswick of Princeton, West Virginia; his mother, Mrs. Alice Anderson of Route 2, Vanceboro: two step-sons: Lloyd Wiggins of Route 2, Ayden, and Howard Wiggins of Route 2, Vance boro; one step-daughter, Mrs. Rubin (Fay) Cherry of Greensboro; two brothers: Woodrow Anderson of Route 2, Vanceboro, and W. L. (Sweetie) Anderson of Route 1, Vanceboro; one sister, Mrs. Estelle Wilson of Route 2, Vanceboro; thirteen grand children; five step-grand- children; and four step-great- grandchildren. MAJOR ELLISON Major Ellison, 94, of Vanceboro, R-1, died Sunday. Graveside services will be Graveside services were Wednesday. Burial was in Ellison Cemetery, Vanceboro, R-1. He is survived by his daughter,. Maybell Ellison Tripp of Chocowinity, three brothers, Fred Ellison of West Jamestown, Guy Ellison of Durham and Willie Ellison of Vanceboro: two sisters, Mary Stevenson of Vanceboro, and Mrs. Lionel Philfoy of Chapel Hill; two grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
