Jt I Fort Barnwell Bulletin By MRS. B.H. MITCHELL The Mother Board of the Alum Spring Church of Disciples of Christ wili sponsor a program on Sunday afternoon, November 11, 1984 at 3 p.m. They are asking all mothers of the various churches to join them in the service if possible. They would like to encourage ail to wear white dresses if possible. If white dresses are not availabie, please come anyway. The guest speaker will be ^inister Edward Pollock and guest choir will be Sand Hill of Kinston, N.C. Everyone is invited to join the Mothers and enjoy the worship service. Mrs. Priscilla Kilpatrick is one of the sponsoring Mothers. Proceeds will be used for the church. * * * The pastor and members of St. John A.M.E. Zion Church are sponsoring a gospel sing on Saturday night, Nov. 10, 1984 at 7:30 p.m. “The Traveling Stars” of Fort Barnwell, and Leo Wiggins will bring two well known groups who will appear on the program to offer special gospel selections. The public is invited to the program. Rev. Ciaude Davis is pastor. * * * The officers and members of St. John A.M.E. Zion Church invite the public to their pastor's appreciation service. It will be held Sunday afternoon, November 11, 1984 at 6 p.m. Everyone Is invited. * * * The guest speaker wiil be Rev. C.O. Caldwell of St. I Augustine A.M.E. Zion Church of Kinston, N.C. His choir will accompany him in the service. After service a dinner wili be served in the fellowship hall. Rev. Claude Davis is pastor. * * * Regular monthly services wili be observed at the Mt. Zion United Christian Church on Sunday morning at 11 a.m. Rev. W.L. Moses is pastor. Ushers Union will be there at 6 p.m. All is invited. The Knight’s of Gideon Lodges will celebrate its 19th Anniversary on Friday morning, Nov. 16, 1984. All members are asked to be present and on time. Members are also asked to bring a box lunch. Dinner will be served at 1:30 p.m. Rev. George M. Dawson will deliver the evening message. “The Voices of Tomorrow” wili render the music. The program will begin at 7:00 p.m. The public is invited to come. Worthy Commander, John Z. Chief - Michaei Bland. Ebner-Eschenbach Ft. Barnwell Fireman’s Day “Everything is just right” said Zoot Saunders as he opened the 10th Annual Fireman’s Day in Fort Barnwell last weekend. The weather was just right, the parade was just right, and the number of peopie was just right. Pienty of action was the order of the day as festivities began with the traditionai parade which was led by Mrs. Emmie Dudley and her daughter, Beth. Fire trucks, rescue vehicles, floats, and beauty queens, and Santa Claus were all part of the affair. The department grossed just over $10,000. A spokesman said that after expenses were taken out this 10th Fireman’s Day will be just as good if not better than previous ones. Chairman Jimmy Smith wishes to thank all citizens who helped make this day a successful one.
