This is a Philadelphia-based firm that produces specialty chemicals, and he will be responsible for technical services and marketing in central North Carolina. He previously was in sales development with GAP Corporation. He is a graduate of N.C. State University and lives in Gastonia. ’50 - Congratulations and best wishes to Tommy Dunn and Carolyn Slaughter, who were married in First United Methodist Church of Mount Holly on June 24. ’56 - Father Arthur ran into Fran and Chuck Muller in the airport in Louisville, Ky., where they were putting their daughter’s mother-in4aw on the plane to Atlanta. Since she spoke no English, they were delighted that Father could travel with her. ’58 - Lee Waters has joined Ti-Caro, Inc. in Gastonia as director of employee relations. Welcome back to the area, Lee! We’ll expect a visit from you soon. Lee and his wife Martha have two children, Lee III, a student at UNC-Chapel Hill, and Allyson, who will be a sophomore at Ashbrook High this fall. Our deepest sympathy to Mary Ellen and John Ciucevich, whose nineteen-year-old son Michael was killed in a motorcycle accident on July 22 and buried in the Abbey cemetery on July 24. ’61 - It was good to see Steve Hodulik and his son John when they stopped by the office when they were visiting Father John in June. Had a good visit with Tom Bums when he stopped by the office when he came to pick up his daughter who was atten ding Bobby Hussey’s basketball camp. Tom and Jen nie and their children live in Charlotte. We’re hoping Douglas will be attending the Abbey next year. ’62 - Father Paschal Morlino visited the last of June. He is at St. Mary’s Abbey in Morristown, N.J. Congratulations to Ben Cornelius, who has formed the partnership of Bramlett, Cornelius & Culpepper, Certified Public Accountants, in Jacksonville, Fla. Thanks for sending the announcement, Ben, and good luck in this new venture. ’63 - Dr. Pat O'Leary's son John, nine years old, attended Bobby Hussey’s basketball camp at the Ab bey the week of June 18, along with my grandson, Bau-ry Cook. Pat is chief of surgery at the VA Hospital in Nashville, Tenn., and professor of surgery at Vanderbilt University, and they live in Nashville. ’64 - John McCorkle is treasurer of United Com panies Life Insurance and lives in Baton Rouge, La. Whitney Norton’s five-year-old daughter attended Mike Reidy’s tennis camp here the week of June 25. Whitney is vice-president of Buckner-Howard & Co. and lives in New Hope, Penna. Bob Montgomery’s two sons, Kevin, 13, and Dennis, 11, attended Bobby Hussey’s basketball camp the week of June 18. ’65 - Congratulations to Linda and Lenny Brown on the arrival of son number five, Yale Andrew, on March 2. Thanks for the cute announcement and for your note, Linda. The other “Brownies” are Bruce, Terence, Ryan, and Tod. Tom Dunn has been nam ed vice president and associate legal counsel of Nor thwestern Financial Corporation in North Wilkesboro, where he and his wife Mary and their three children live. Brian Mause is sales manager with Celanese Corporation in Houston, Texas. ’67 - Charles Edward Mason is a program specialist in Charleston, W.Va. John Brannigan's sister, Mary Ellen Schattman, stopped by for a visit on her way from her home in Forth Worth, Texas, to see John. She told me that he is with the Library of Congress in Washington, and he and his wife Frances and their two children, Matthew, four, and Andrew, almost three, live in Rockville, Md. Larry Natale is vice president for finance with Fiber Con trols in Gastonia. The president of Fiber Controls, .Mrs. Margaret Lytton, is on the Abbey’s Board of Advisors. Dr. Kevin Soden’s son Vinnie, 11, attend ed Bobby Hussey’s basketball ctunp here at the Ab bey the week of June 18. It was good to hear from Jane Massey Dionne telling me of the birth of her . first daughter, Louise Rachael, on May 24; Jane has two sons. She received the specialist degree in ■ Reading Education last summer from Appalachian State University, the first to receive that degree from the Reading Department. She lives in New York Ci ty. ’68 - Malloy Davis. Jr. is a CPA in Charlotte. ’69 - Congratulations to Jack Murphy who has been named head soccer coach at the Abbey. Welcome home. Jack, and best of luck in the 1979 'season. 70 - Robert Kelly has completed the third year of a four-year law degree program at Western New England School of Law in Springfield, Maine. He left his position tis principal on July 1 to accept a position with the Springfield law firm of Silverman, Mickin and Berg. Congratulations to John Alexander, who has been promoted to vice president and assistant corporate secretary of Americtm Heritage Life In surance Co. in Jacksonville, Fla. John received his Master’s in Business from the University of North Florida and has completed his requirements for a Fellow Life Management Institute. He holds a membership in the American Society for Personnel Administration and is currently serving as vice presi dent and a director of Theatre Jacksonville, a direc tor of Morning Star School for children with learning "disabilities, and is a business consultant for Junior Achievement. Robert Edsell is computer supervisor with United Parcel Service in Charlotte, where he and his wife Lydia (Lagomasino, SHC70) live. 71 - It was good to see George Coombs when Father Michael brought him by my office on July 26. George was a lay minister in Hong Kong 1974-76, then came back and completed the Master’s degree in history of science and technology at the University of Delaware. He has been teaching in the Marynoll secondary school in Hong Kong since September 1977 and married Amy Lee there on Easter Sunday. They are on their honeymoon in the States and stop ped by the Abbey for a visit. 72 - Henry Sutter is warehouse foreman with Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. and lives in Englishtown, N.J. Stanley Cinoski is purchasing agent for J.E. Lonergan Co. and lives in Pennsauken, N.J. Dante Enrico Costrodole has recently been promoted to vice president of safety and equipment of Vecellio and Grogan, a highway construction company based in Beckley, West Virginia. He and his wife Sherry are the proud parents of their first child, a daughter, Jelisa Ann, who was born June 2. 73 - Robert Meise is sales representative with American Industries, Inc. and lives in Taylors, S.C. Father Arthur saw Mark Schulte and his wife in the airport in Louisville when he was coming back to the Abbey from St. Meinrad’s in Indiana. Mark is just out of the Navy and is setting up his dental practice in Louisville. Congratulations to Janice and Michael Miller on the arrival of Scott Michael on June 2. They are now living in Novato, Ca. 74 - Congratulations to Wendy and Paul Keany on the arrival of their daughter, Dana Marie, on June 14. The Keanys live in Rumson, N.J. Good luck. Harris Community Hospital ■in Sylva, N.C., where he and his wife Elizabeth live.
