March 20, 1961 THE LEXHIPEP Page 7 SENIORS PRESENT “GO WEST YOUNG MAN” (Continued from Page 1) ning smile and personality, was a perfect part for Johnny Williams. Victor Freitag as Wes Hopper, Harry’s pal, was excellent. The young sleepy businessman, Ken Thornton, was Louis Bowles. Kay Burkhardt had the right person ality for Charlotte Stone, and Genne Hewitt as Fran Davis, didn’t seem to have much difficul ty with memorizing her lines; she was made for this part, played it in and excellent style. Gail Porks was a very cute and be lievable “Bimsie” Roberts, and Judy Raykes did a very good jcb as Edith Roberts, Bimsie’s mcther. Kaye Powell as Alicia Pringle, and Jerry Lopp as Thom as Stanley were both superb in their roles as partners involving a $50,000 deal; Louise Freeman was a fearless sheriff, and “Liz Stone’’, knew her business. Last, but not least, Phil Palisoul as Count Dino Pozwalski should have won a prize only for being able to remember his name. Between the acts “The Commodores”, this time dressed as cowboys, a large group of singing cowboys, and a group of dancing cowgirls highly entertained the audience. With the help of all seniors who worked on the different commit tees and the marshalls who serv ed as ushers, and especially be cause of the excellent guidance of Mrs. Ottis M. Hedrick and Miss Charlotte Matthews, the whole performance was a wonderful success. THE RAINS CAME —JUDITH TYLER The clouds stood black against a blacker sky; The rains came. Pouring down the gutters and filling rivers high. The rains came. But, even while ’twas raining. One would know that God was near. For one little star shone brightly ’Til all the rest was clear. And when next morning did appear. And the clouds were gone from above, One could tell that God was still there. For the day was filled with His love. Buck Young Oil Co.
