192 ZION’S I. A N D M A R K S. Brother L. I. Bodeehamrr :—As tlie Scriptures have expressed, so we adoyit “The Lord jrave and the I^oid hath taken away, blessed he the name of the T.ord.” It w'as his pood pleasure, the £7th of October 1870, to take from us, our beloved sister ISTARTHA 0. T'AA’- LOR, consort of Elder C. B. Taylor. Sister Taylor wuis born in U})son Coun ty Ga , April 13th, 1835, and lomained ■with her parents Samuel and Elizabeth McDaniel, until her marriage to Elder C. B. Taylor, which took place £0th December 1850. In the year 18o2, it pleased the Lord, to bring her to tlie knowTedge of the truth as it is in Jesus. A fev/ days after she obtained a hope, she Avent to the Church at L ew- hope, Upson County, Ga., and there re lated what great things the Lord had done for her; she was received, and the ordinance of Baptism was admin istered by Elder T ick A-\ ebb. A tew days before her demise, she stated to many surrounding friends, that she had never regretted being baptized into the Church of Christ, which she loved Avith all her heart. She lived in honor to her profession 18 yean? and departed Avithout a stain upon her moral or Christian character. Slie Avas a good mother, kind companion, and truly was a help meet to her husband in the Lord. This she demonstrated in bis ministerial labors, often admonishing him to a faithful discharge of all Chris tian duties. She Avas 5 or 0 years a gutferer from “Carsanoma uteri,” but Avas not confined to her room until 21 days before her death. She endured her afflictions wdth much Christian ])aticnce; never heard to murmur, but often remarked, it Avas a’l right to be afflicted of the Lord. She was perfect ly resigned to her death, regretting nothing but to leaAm her kind husband and children, whom she was heard to Ray often, the Lord was able and would do right by them. Her children are five in number, ah females, theyoungest seven years, the elder, the only mar ried member of the family, the consort APPOmTMENTS. Elders C. B. HASSELL, JOHN IT. DANIEL and Q,. A. Maj' the Lord ble,ss brother Taylor atid chil dren, in their bereaved state, and give them grace to bear all tiieir afflictions, ^lany are the afflictions of the righteous but God delivers him out of them all. Our loss is truly very great, but her gipin is infinitely greater. I cau say to her numerous friends, mourn not for her, her spnrit doubtless is clothed upon with immortality and numbered A'/ith the angelic host in ascribing praise to him who has redeemed them by his own blood, Avhile her body is mouldering in dust aAvaiting its re demption, when it shall be raised in the likeness of her Lord Jc.sus Cbrist, and shall be caught up together Avith them in Lbe clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and .so shall Ave ever bo with the Lord. This is the comforting exhorta tion of the apostle and the hope of all .saints. A. B. AAMIATI.EY. Pritnifive Baptist and Signs of the Times, please copy. A. B. W. Atitioch, Ga., November 3d, 1870.
