Dr. Jones, Mr. Cole To Appear In Flute Concert A program of flute muaic will be presented by Or. Wililam Jonei, flutiat, and Walton S. Cole, accompantat, on Thuraday, Sept ember 19, at 8 p. m., in the Fine Arte Auditorium at the college. The public ia invited. The program ia drawn from j flute literature of varioua periods in muaic history and shows a. wide number of moods and typea of composition for that instru- I ment. The first part of the program ia made up of the Sonata in F Minor from the act of eight for that in strument and piano by George Frederick Handel followed by the Concerto in 0 Major, op. 27, for flute and string orchestra by Luigi Moccherini. The aecond part of the program opens with • short number of flute alone. Syrinx, by Claude Debuaay. This will be followed by three move menta selected from J. S. Bach's Suite No. 2 in B Minor. American muaic will be repre aented on the concert by Poem written by the impreaaionist com poser Charles T. Griffea. The final number on the pro gram will be Concertino by Cecile Chaminade. Both Dr. Jones and Mr. Cole are members of the Music Department of Appalachian State Teachera College.
