The factor for North Carolina is
"1.00."
The natiop?l marketing quota
for the JJ63 crop is 9gg.4 mil
lion pounds compared with M
quota <of 871.8 million pounds
for the 1S62 erap. Converting
the acreage on the basic of av
erage per acre yields daring the
past five yean, the quota makes
available for allotment for 1M3
a total of 348,890 acres. This
compare* with 348, 1 TBI acres
available far allotment in 1962.
The North Carolina allotment
for 1963, according to legman,
is 11,490 acres compared with
last year's allotment of 11,488
acres.
In a referendum held last
February, marketing quotas
were approved by North Caro
lina farmers -for the 1962, W6S,
and MM hurley crop by W.4
percent of the growers voting.
Burtey farmers will have their
196S crop supported at near SO
percent of parity, provided they
plant within their acreage al
lotment and otherwise comply
with the pregram. The total ac

non C. Lillard, 78, of Jefferson
died at > a. m. yesterday at
Carolina Beat Home in Wilkes
boro. He had been in ill health
for about a year.
Lillard was on the board of
diiaetaw of the Blue Ridge Elec
tric Membership Corp. for sev
eral years and was a former
Ashe Owmty eommissioner. He
was employed by the State High
way Commission for eight year*.
He was bora in Tennessee to
Nawton and Carolina Worth
Lillard and was a member of
the Woodmen of the World and
a veteran of the Army aad
Navy.
He Was a member of Jeffer
son Methodist Church.
Surviving are his widow, Mr*.
Annie lfamiltqp UHard, and a
brother, Jim Lillard of Elkin.
The funeral was conducted at
2 p. m. Saturday at Badger Fun
eral Home chafttl by the Rev.
John Christy. Burial was in the
Hamilton cemetery.
