Dance Recital Here Saturday The Mountcastle School of Dancing will present “Rhythm Steppers of 1967” on Saturday, May 27, 1967 at 8 P. M., at the John A. Holmes High School audi torium in Edenton. The show will have num bers in tap, ballet and jazz presented by children rang ing in ages from four to 14 years. Perfect attendance pins will be awarded to the fol lowing: Peggy Walker, Mit zi Mosely, Carolyn Erwin, Jan Mabe, Ann Leary, El len Pruden, Katherine Raines, Beth Katkaveck and Cherry Spain. Children receiving five year trophies are: Jan Mabe, Elizabeth Stevens, Ginny Gardner, Mitzi Jor dan, Alison Jordan, Betsy Twiddy, Jackie Ricks, Beth Katkaveck, Vicki Leary, Sheila Byrum, Chris Hol lowell and Robin Hendrix. Sharpe, a mem ber of the D. F. Walker High School faculty, will teach Modern Basic Mathe matics at Elizabeth City State College for nine weeks this summer. Sharpe is a graduate of A&T Col lege in Greensboro and holds a masters degree from N. Y. University. He also studied at Columbia University, Stonehill Col lege, Ohio Wesleyan Uni versity, and N. C. State University. Sentence Given In Larceny Case ■District Judge Fentress Horner Tuesday sentenced a Negro laborer to prison for the larceny of motor oil from a local service station. James Mizelle, 42, was arrested by Edenton police last week and charged with larceny of motor oil, valued at $6.75, from Smith’s Sin clair Station. Judge Horner gave him a nine-month road sen tence. In other cases called by Solicitor Wilton Walker, the following action was taken: Howard Beam Glasgow, non support, ordered to pay S2OO at this time and $36 per week for support of his minor children. Edward B. Bunch, Jr., speeding and reckless driv ing, SSO fine and costs. Terry M. Roughton, speeding, $25 fine and costs. Fentress H. Mund en, speeding, prayer for judg ment continued upon pay ment of costs. Tommie West Forehand, reckless driving, charge re duced to driving too fast for existing conditions, costs. Willie J. Leary, damage to personal property, 30 days, suspended upon pay ment of costs and other conditions. Wilbert A. Bailey, driv ing on wrong side of the road, not guilty. Jay W. Dillon, failure to yield right of way, not guilty. William E. Roulhac, fail ure to list taxes, nol pros. James C. Sheley, reckless driving, charge reduced to driving too fast for condi tions, continued prayer for judgment for two weeks. Arnold Driver, assault on a female, nol pros.
